Maasai Mara Big Cats

When people think of Africa, they think of the Maasai Mara. It is hands down the single greatest destination in the world for wildlife photography. Every day is a new adventure, with incredible sightings of big cats and other wildlife around every corner.

One of the few places where you can consistently and reliably find the Big 5, our trip will mostly focus on the resident lions, leopards, and cheetahs that call the Mara home. Our professional local guides know the territories and patterns of all the cats, and we will always be in position to photograph them.

As a photography centric trip, we prioritize coming away with incredible shots over the other luxuries that so many tours seem to offer. Our camp is composed of canvas tents inside a real Maasai Village, with proceeds going directly back into the communities that protect the Mara's wildlife. Safaris are expensive nowadays, and we want to offer an experience that is affordable and accessible. The camp is for sleeping, you should be out there with your camera!

Photography First

So many tours to Africa do a standard morning and afternoon safari. But some of the best sightings happen in the middle of the day, even in "bad" light. We go out for a full day, every day. Your photos come first, and our guides know exactly how to meet the demands of photographers

Diversity of Subjects

While our focus is always going to be on the big cats, the diversity of species in the Mara mean that you will come away with a portfolio of images of a wide range of subjects. We want you to be able to show off all that the Mara has to offer.

Dramatic Light

The open plains of East Africa make for the perfect backdrop for silhouette photography. We will have a mix of golden African sunrises/sunsets, as well as dramatic clouds to help create stunning photos.
