The Great Migration
The Greatest Spectacle on Earth: The Great Migration. Every year between July and October, millions of wildebeest, zebra, and other animals cross from the Serengeti in Tanzania into Kenya's Maasai Mara. They will dodge crocodile infested waters as they search for new grasses, which is one of the most dramatic wildlife experiences to witness.
The Mara is not just home to these migratory animals though, and plenty of others have been waiting for the wildebeests to arrive as well. The big cats are always active, and the Migration gives them the opportunity to gorge on an abundance of prey. If predator action is what you're after, then this is the time to visit the Mara!
As a photography centric trip, we prioritize coming away with incredible shots over the other luxuries that so many tours seem to offer. Our camp is composed of canvas tents inside a real Maasai Village, with proceeds going directly back into the communities that protect the Mara's wildlife. Safaris are expensive nowadays, and we want to offer an experience that is affordable and accessible. The camp is for sleeping, you should be out there with your camera!
Photography First
So many tours to Africa do a standard morning and afternoon safari. But some of the best sightings happen in the middle of the day, even in "bad" light. We go out for a full day, every day. Your photos come first, and our guides know exactly how to meet the demands of photographers
Drama at the Mara
We will capture the dramatic scenes of the Migration crossings, which can lead to some of the best photography in Africa. If we are lucky, we may even see the gigantic crocodiles of the Mara River making a kill as the wildebeest attempt to cross.
Dramatic Light
The open plains of East Africa make for the perfect backdrop for silhouette photography. We will have a mix of golden African sunrises/sunsets, as well as dramatic clouds to help create stunning photos.
